Lufthansa will Lay off 29,000 Employees by the End of the Year
The German airline company Lufthansa will lay off 29,000 employees by the end of the year. The company announced that in 2021, nearly 10 thousand more personnel will be dismissed in their own country.
According to the news based on company resources by the Bild am Sonntag newspaper, the German airline company Lufthansa will lay off 20 thousand employees outside of its own country, and that it will sell the LSG catering unit, which employs 7,500 people, and reduce the total number of personnel to 109 thousand.
Stating that
Lufthansa will lay off 10 thousand more employees in Germany in 2021, the newspaper reported that the company has already used 1/3 ($ 3.64 billion) of the 9 billion euro government rescue package that it secured at the beginning of the year.

Lufthansa Group, reduced flight schedules, fleet and personnel numbers during the coronavirus outbreak. Companies within Lufthansa are not expected to return to pre-epidemic levels until 2025.
