German airline company
Lufthansa will lay off another 5,000 employees. The company, which shrinks its fleet even more, reported that 5 thousand more people will be dismissed.
Carsten Spohr, CEO of German airline company Lufthansa, gave an interview for the World Aviation Festival. In his speech, Spohr stated that the shrinkage in the fleets would result in more layoffs, and announced that approximately 5,000 more people could be dismissed.
Spohr also stated that the ratio of aircraft to workforce today is linked to the jobs that will be affected depending on which aircraft will be removed from the fleet.
After the Lufthansa company shot down 100 aircraft from its fleet, it will cut another 50 aircraft, laying off almost 22,000 people.
Lufthansa is also considering divesting minority shares in engineering company Technik.
