Major Increase in U.S. Unemployment Benefits Applications

The United States received record applications with 3.3 million people applying for unemployment benefits among those countries.
Applications for US unemployment benefits, interpreted as proof that the impact of the virus outbreak on financial markets is reflected in real markets, have been announced. Weekly data revealed 3.3 million people last week. The previous week this data was 281 thousand people.
It marked the highest increase in applications for unemployment benefits in history. Before the historic increase announced this week, the highest increase was 665 thousand in 1982.
