May Calendar in the SEC-Ripple Case
In the legal battle between the SEC and Ripple for months, the calendar for May has been announced.
The calendar for the month of May has been announced in the SEC-Ripple case. The month of May will be very critical hearings in the case between SEC and Ripple. James Filan, the attorney of both Ripple and the company's two executives who have filed with the
SEC, informed the Ripple community by sharing important dates, as he did before.
Here are the critical hearings to be seen in May in the
SEC-Ripple case:
May 13:
The SEC had requested Ripple's removal from the case after arguing that the process was incomplete and they were not warned that XRP was a security. The SEC had argued that there was no such requirement. Ripple will defend "Lack of Legal Process and Fair Notice" against this move of the SEC in the trial to be carried out tomorrow.
May 14:
On May 14, the SEC will defend against the dismissal of Ripple's two executives, Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen.
Ripple will defend against the SEC's request to disclose legal advice that Ripple previously received on whether XRP is a security.
May 17:
Attorney John Deaton will respond to the SEC, which opposes XRP investors 'request to intervene, and will explain Ripple Labs' position at this hearing. In addition, the SEC will announce on May 17th why Ripple has objected to its position of intervention.
May 21:
At 2 pm on May 21, a teleconference meeting will be held to discuss whether Ripple is obliged to present the files of legal advice on whether XRP is a security.
May 27:
The SEC will respond to Ripple's argument that the process is incomplete and they have not been warned that XRP is a security.
June 4th:
Ripple's co-founders Brad Garlinghouse and Chris Larsen have asked for a dismissal of the case, but will respond to the SEC's defense at the hearing on June 4th.
Attorney James Filan said that the court response is also expected on the SEC's request to receive files from Ripple's partner companies outside the US and regulatory agencies in those countries.
