Miley Cyrus Files Patent for NFT and Metaverse!
Singer Miley Cyrus has filed for two trademark registrations. In addition, Miley has applied for patents indicating that she will be participating in the Metaverse. Miley Cyrus is no stranger to the Metaverse, having previously participated in Gucci Town by Roblox. However, her latest Metaverse endeavor is more of a private venture. According to a trademark attorney, Miley Cyrus has filed for two Metaverse trademarks, both related to NFTs.
Attorney Mike Kondoudis announced that the pop star has registered her name as a trademark for a new venture in the Metaverse. The Miley applications registered trademarks under serial numbers 97551201 and 97551195. These will give the pop star the rights to launch her own line of downloadable virtual goods, including art, clothing, jewelry, eyewear, shoes, bags, toys, videos. Applications include gaming equipment, characters, badges and more, according to the filings. However, Miley has previously stepped into the Metaverse through her relationship with fashion brand Gucci. She recently partnered with the brand to be the face of Gucci Beauty's Flora Gorgeous Jasmine campaign. The partnership is also featured as a digital avatar in the virtual Gucci Town on the gaming platform Roblox. Visitors to the Gucci Town store will be able to pose for digital selfies with the Miley avatar.
Other Hollywood celebrities are also participating in the Metaverse, registering their trademarks for future NFT collections. One of the most notable celebrities to apply for Metaverse trademarks is pop star Rihanna. The cosmetics mogul recently filed a trademark application for the brand. In this context, she aims to bring her beauty line Fenty Beauty to the Metaverse. The trademark will allow her to make and sell virtual makeup from her cosmetics line in the Metaverse.

Kondoudis, an NFT and Metaverse trade lawyer, also shared the actual files recorded by Miley's team. Kondoudis previously shared the news that FIFA has registered Metaverse trademarks for the 2026 World Cup tournament in July 2022. FIFA filings revealed that the organization plans to launch digital versions of 2026 World Cup merchandise such as clothing, hats, glasses and sports equipment. It also stated that this would take place through virtual retail stores.
Kondoudis commented on the recent surge of applications. 'We are in an evolving world. New virtual worlds will continue to increase day by day. Therefore, I try to inform the industry as much as I can'. Indeed, recently increasing applications accelerate the transition of well-known brands to the sector. Increasing and accelerating applications create excitement for investors and enthusiasts about how far the sector will progress in the future.
