Miltos Manetas Announced the Details of his NFT Collection!

Artist Miltos Manetas will convert 50 percent of Assange portraits to NFT to raise awareness about the imprisoned activist. It will aim to further strengthen the blockchain connection. The proceeds from the NFTs will go to a DAO, part of the Venice Biennale Festival, a technology company founded by Manetas in 2009. They will also gain access to unique digital versions of the hand-painted portraits Manetas has created over the last two years. The collection will be divided into three phases where 37 tokens will be minted on the Materia Blockchain.

The collection is produced by Manetas with contributions from Howie B, the British songwriter who signed the original Internet Pavilion event thirteen years ago. The collection is based on Manetas' interest in freedom in the internet age. The artist has also consistently expressed his support for the convict, whom he considers a close friend. The artist, whose digital works have previously appeared on the virtual reality platform Second Life, likens the silencing of the WikiLeaks founder to government attempts to suppress dissent on the World Wide Web. There are 111 NFTs in the collection. The NFTs are managed digital versions of the Assange portraits the artist created as part of the AssangePower social media campaign. This collection was inspired by Manetas' exhibition of his work at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. It will also include works that he later exhibited at the IKOB Museum in Belgium in the Assange Situation. The owners of these NFTs will not only have a history of art. They will also have a say in the management of the AIIA, the NFT's currency in a Metaverse without borders. According to the statements made, the money from the sale will go to the DAO. However, this decision means that art collectors can help decide which art projects Pavilion will finance in the future. Miltos Manetas stated that his main goal was to raise awareness about the treatment of Assange. He also explained that he believes he has been unfairly demonized for his speaking activities. This view is shared by the human rights organization Amnesty International, which described the UK's decision to extradite Assange to the US as a parody of justice. The NFTs that make up the new collection are one minute long. Assange's face will also be in the foreground during this time. Each artwork will reportedly be accompanied by a musical theme composed by Howie B. Assange.   Source: nfxhaber.com
