Minimum Wage Support Will Continue

Minimum wage support will continue. The minimum wage support applied in 2016-2020 will be continuing in 2021 as well.

In the written statement of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, it was reminded that the "Bag Law" proposal, which included the decision to provide 75 TL support to workers working with minimum wage, was accepted at the General Assembly of the Parliament. In the aforementioned statement, it was underlined that the minimum wage support provided from 2016 to the end of 2020 will be continuing in 2021 in order to protect and increase employment by reducing labor costs. Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, whose views were given in the statement, stated that in order to reduce labor costs in order to support employment in 2021, a minimum wage of 2.50 TL per day and 75 TL per month will be provided by deducting from the insurance premium to be paid for employees, regardless of the sector, and stated that the financing of the said support will be covered by the Unemployment Insurance Fund. With the application, 6.2 billion TL will be given to 1.4 million businesses. While it is estimated that 9.3 million insured will benefit from the support, it is known that there is no need to apply for the support that will cover all workplaces.
