Minister Elvan Listed Areas Where Work Is Carried Out On Cryptocurrencies

Treasury and Finance Minister Lütfi Elvan explained to Bloomberg the areas where work on cryptocurrencies is being carried out in Turkey.

Minister Elvan listed the areas where work is carried out on cryptocurrencies. Treasury and Finance Minister Lütfi Elvan, who made important statements to Bloomberg, shared information about the studies carried out on the cryptocurrency market. Stating that the practices in different countries are also examined, Minister Elvan listed the areas on which studies are carried out for cryptocurrencies as follows:

• Defining the crypto asset and its types
• Discovering, exporting and distributing these assets
• Determining the principles and principles that the trading platforms must comply with
• Under what conditions and by whom the asset custody service can be performed
• How the taxation policy will be
• Which institution will have the authority to regulate and impose sanctions for which type of crypto asset
• Prevention of laundering proceeds of crime and the use of this area in financing terrorism

Stating that the works will be completed in a short time, the Minister of Treasury and Finance made a warning. Minister Elvan said, "Citizens should not take risks that they cannot manage while investing their savings."
