Moonbirds Relinquishes Commercial Rights!

Previously, Moonbirds owners had full commercial art rights for the Moonbird they owned. This meant that they could create art, merchandise, etc. around it for commercial purposes in the form of a compilation. But now, after a Twitter thread from project founder Kevin Rose, the situation has changed. Also, anyone can now create what the owners can only create beforehand. According to statements, this initiative is legal. However, the owners consider it unethical for Moonbirds to switch to the CC0 public license. This change means that something promised to the original owners is no longer possible. According to the team, CC0 will allow anyone to creatively remix their work for commercial purposes. The rules, regulations and details regarding CC0 will be complex, especially when it comes to Moonbirds. In addition, the team introduced a DAO for the Moonbirds brand. According to the statements, the DAO will oversee the licensing of the Moonbirds and Oddities names with the primary goals of promoting general commercialization while preventing fraud, hate speech and violence. Overall this decision will remain a debate among people for a long time. However, Kevin Rose and his team have confirmed that the Moonbirds CC0 decision is final. Rose said, 'we can't change our minds. We are rooting for you and look forward to helping you promote and support all your creative endeavors,' Rose said.

By definition, according to creativecommons.org, 'CC0 allows scholars, educators, artists, creators, owners of copyright or database protected content to waive those interests in their works, thereby placing them as fully as possible in the public domain.
