Musk will build the city of Starbase to make satellites
SpaceX's American company Elon Musk will build a new factory in the US state of Texas.
Satellites of the Starlink network will be manufactured there, which will in the future allow access to the Internet from anywhere on Earth. Reuters reported today.
Musk runs several futuristic companies - in addition to
Tesla, the neurotechnology company Neuralink and Boring, an infrastructure company.
In December, he shifted his focus from California to Texas, where he is building a new Tesla plant, and now the new SpaceX factory is likely to take place.
"I'll build Starbase in Texas," Musk wrote on Twitter.
In a job ad in which Starlink is looking for an engineer, the company said it was a groundbreaking project in a "new, state-of-the-art" plant in the Texas metropolis of Austin.
Musk has previously said that Starlink, now based in Redmond, Washington, will be a key source of funding for his broader plans.
This includes the development of the Starship rocket, which is to transport paying customers to the moon, and later an attempt to colonize the planet
Mars.
