Answering journalists' questions after the meeting, "How were the talks with Turkey last night about Finland and Sweden's possible NATO membership?" Geoana stated that there was an open and constructive discussion on the question. Geoana said, "Turkey is an important ally. (Turkish officials) expressed their concerns about the subject and we discussed the issue between friends and allies.
