Negotiations On The Iran Nuclear Deal Are About To Finish
Negotiations on the Iran nuclear deal are about to finish. Negotiations called the "Comprehensive Joint Action Plan", which lasted for almost 3 months, are coming to an end.
On behalf of the
European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Relations and Security Policy, the Joint Commission of the "Comprehensive Joint Action Plan (KOEP)" convened under the chairmanship of Enrique Mora, Deputy Secretary General and Political Director of the EU Foreign Relations Service, to Russia, China, Germany, England, High-level representatives from France and Iran attended.
In a statement to the press after the meeting, Deputy Secretary General of the EU Foreign Relations Service, Mora, stated that the 6th session of the talks, which started last week, has ended.
Stating that progress has been made in the negotiations for the lifting of the sanctions imposed by the USA on Iran and for
Iran to fully implement the agreement, Mora said, "We have made progress in this 6th session, we are close to the agreement, but we are not there yet. We are closer than a week ago, but we are not there yet."
Stating that the issues have been clarified in many technical areas and this situation makes the job of decision makers easier, Mora said that his expectation is that the representatives going to their countries will come to the next meeting with clear and constructive ideas in order to finalize the agreement.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told English-language state television Press TV, "We are much closer than ever to an agreement."
