New Appointment to TURKSTAT Presidency
A new appointment was made to the presidency of TURKSTAT. Prof. Dr. Erdal Sait Dinçer was brought in.
In the middle of February, the
Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) appointed a new president by presidential decree. According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, Prof. Dr. Erdal Sait Dinçer was appointed.
Ahmet Kürşad Dosdoğru, who previously served as the vice president of the institution, was appointed as the president of the institution by proxy.
Who is Prof. Dr. Erdal Sait Dinçer?
Born in Istanbul in 1968, Prof. Dr. Dinçer graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Geological Engineering.
Dinçer received his master's degree from the Department of Management Engineering of the same university and the Statistics Department of Marmara University, Institute of Social Sciences. Dinçer completed his doctorate education at Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences Operations Research.
Dinçer was appointed as a professor in 2019 at Marmara University, Department of Econometrics, where he started working as a research assistant in 1992.
Dinçer, who conducts research in the fields of social sciences and humanities, has scientific articles published in 26 international scientific journals, books and book chapters published by 12 international publishers, and published papers presented in 7 international symposiums.
Dinçer, who has referee and editorship in national and international scientific journals, has also undertaken the management of many doctoral and master's level scientific theses.
Dinçer is married and he has 2 daughters.
