New Era in Bus Travel; Installment Ticket Sales System
Citizens who want to travel by bus before the Eid al-Adha but cannot afford the skyrocketing ticket amounts due to rising fuel costs expressed their satisfaction with the new installment system. After the price increase in fuel, people who prefer to travel by bus will be able to divide their payments into two months with installment ticket sales.
Istanbul Esenler Bus Terminal started to experience density in the days before the Eid al-Adha. While some people went to their relatives, some citizens formed queues at the ticket offices to go to summer destinations. While the buses set off at full capacity, companies started additional flights. While ticket prices ranging between 200-500 liras were found to be quite high for some citizens, some welcomed it as normal due to the increasing costs.
The opportunity to pay bus ticket prices in two installments also relieved the citizens to some extent. Arzu Selamet, who said that she will spend the holiday in Balıkesir, said,
"I will spend the holiday in Balıkesir. I bought the ticket today. I was able to buy one, but I couldn't buy it for my 7-year-old daughter. I will hold her on my lap. You know the living conditions. Prices are high. I wish everyone a good Eid."
Ali Oran, who noted that he bought the tickets a month in advance, said,
"We bought the ticket a month in advance. Prices are normal. Normal according to fuel prices. Companies are making losses. It does not cover their costs, so it is normal. I am sending my wife and child to Mardin. I will rest on Eid. Our family is in Mardin and my wife will go to see them."
Citizen İsmet Çekin said,
"The application is good, it makes more sense to buy in installments instead of 500 lira at once. But this is not the solution, the solution is to find a solution to diesel. So you shouldn’t give fish to someone, you have to teach them how to catch the fish. I am going to Kars now and there is also the return. It is good for the students, but in the end, the money comes out of the pocket of the student's father. Our state elders need to find a solution to this issue. I cannot find fault with the companies, the expenses are obvious."
