New Problems Arose in the US Incentive Package New problems arose in the US incentive package. Due to the 2 thousand dollar offer to the citizens, the package was again at a deadlock. In the new incentive package, which is planned to be presented to the citizens in order to reduce the negative economic effects of the coronavirus epidemic in the USA, new conflicts have emerged. US President Donald Trump found the planned $ 600 payment to be given to citizens in the incentive bill low and asked that this figure be increased to $ 2,000. Following this proposal, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives Steny Hoyer made an offer to make the aforementioned update. However, the proposal, backed by the Democrats, was not accepted by the Republicans. The President of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, made the following statements regarding the development:
“Today, on the morning of Christmas Eve, the House of Representatives brutally deprived the American people of the $ 2,000 that the president agreed to support.”
Pelosi emphasized that President Donald Trump should call on Republicans and stated that the proposal will be put to the vote of the House of Representatives again on December 28. Pelosi said, “I hope by then the president will have signed the law to keep the government open and provide support for the Covid-19 outbreak.” The US Senate approved the $ 900 billion support package and the $ 1.4 trillion budget bill on December 21. President Trump, on the other hand, demanded some changes to the package for the effects of the Covid-19 outbreak, which was accepted in Congress and presented to his approval, including an increase of $ 600 in cash assistance to $ 2,000.
