New York Times Transformed A Column Into NFT
The New York Times announced that it has transformed a column into NFT.
The New York Times turned a column into an immutable token. NYT tech columnist Kevin Roose posted on his twitter account, said, "Why can't a journalist join the NFT party too?"
They Transformed Their Column to NFT
According to the column in question, the proceeds from the sale within 24 hours will go to the New York Times' Neediest Cases Fund, which supports outreach in New York and elsewhere. However, the buyer will be included in a follow-up article about the sale, along with his name, affiliation and a picture of his choice. In addition, buyers can choose to remain anonymous.
NFT is currently bidding for 4.65 ETH (about $ 7,600) at the NFT marketplace Foundation, which hosts the $ 600,000 sale of the "Nyan Cat" graphic.
The New York Times has been on record as the latest publication exploring the use of NFTs, similar to digital certificates or labels linked to a work of art or creative work. The data is kept in the form of a token on a blockchain network, with the idea that these tokens are unique and scarce.
The printed TIME magazine is currently in the process of selling three issue covers, bidding for 31 ETH (about $ 53k). Quartz sold its first NFT news article for 1 ETH (approximately $ 1,800).
