Dow Jones index rose by
11.33 percent to
20,697.84 points.
Thus, the index showed the highest increase since 1933. March 15, 1933, when the Dow Jones index rose 15.34 percent, was registered as the best trading day on the New York stock exchange.
The S&P 500 index also increased by 9.27 percent at the close, reaching 2,444.88 points, and the Nasdaq index increased by 8.12 percent to 7,417.86 points. US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin reported that a compromise was approached in the $ 2 trillion-dollar economic stimulus package prepared to combat the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
