Nuclear Cooperation Agreement Between the USA and Armenia
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan signed an agreement to increase cooperation between the two countries in the energy security sector.
Nuclear Cooperation Agreement between the USA and Armenia. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met at the US State Department in Washington DC.
In the statement made by the US Department of State after the meeting, it was stated that Blinken and Mirzoyan signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Strategic Civil Nuclear Cooperation between the US and Armenia.
Making a statement on the subject, US Secretary of State Blinken said, “A major goal of these meetings is to re-start the strategic dialogue between the United States and Armenia, where we can continue to deepen and strengthen our relations in order to maintain cooperation and areas of cooperation. We are very happy that we can do that now.”
US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price noted that Blinken and Mirzoyan also evaluated the progress made by Armenia in building democracy and the legal order, and its relations with its neighbors.
