Passengers return to board Boeing 737 Max aircraft
Passengers return to board Boeing 737 Max aircraft after safety regulators have allowed these machines to take off again.
In Miami, USA, American Airlines scheduled a flight to New York with about a hundred passengers on Tuesday.
However, the airline provided customers with the opportunity to change the flight in case they did not want to fly a Boeing 737 Max.
These aircraft grounded around the world for 18 months after two fatal accidents revealed their design flaws.
According to the regulatory authorities, new computer software had to be installed and they had to undergo changes to the instrumentation and electrical installation in order to return to operation.
The Boeing 737 Max began using in 2017. There were almost 400 of them in operation.
However, after the plane crashes in Indonesia and last year in
Ethiopia, they had to stop using them.
Investigators pointed to an automated air traffic control system (MCAS), which pushed the front end of the aircraft downwards based on erroneous sensor data.
Until January 4, American Airlines will use the
Boeing 737 Max only on the two-way route Miami - New York, later it wants to deploy them on several routes.
