Pentagon Gave The JEDI Contract To Microsoft

JEDI is a cloud technology that the USA is preparing to use, that enables cloud-based computing at all security classification levels. Thanks to JEDI, vehicles can work offline until they sync again. The Pentagon gave the JEDI contract to Microsoft for $ 10 billion in a 10-year deal. According to the news in CNBC, Microsoft also made agreements with foreign countries for the cloud infrastructure package developed for the US Department of Defense.

IN TIGHT RELATIONSHIP WITH THE TRUMP GOVERNMENT

It was emphasized in the article that Microsoft and the Trump administration are in close relations. It has been suggested that this relationship played a big part in the company's attempts to acquire the US division of TikTok. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella met with Donald Trump to discuss this on August 2. It was noted that Microsoft wants to expand its cloud infrastructure by meeting the needs of the public sector abroad. It is stated that the technology giant will begin to announce the agreements it has signed with other countries before the end of this year. Microsoft did not comment directly on the matter. Company spokesperson said, “We have been working with governments around the world for 40 years on a long-term and reliable basis. We have government customers who want to make public employees more efficient, empower them with the modern tools they need, and interact deeply with citizens ”.
THE EXTERNAL MARKET IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR MICROSOFT In 2019, AWS dominated 47 percent of the cloud infrastructure market, according to industry research firm IDC. For Microsoft, that's 13 percent. AWS earned $ 10.8 billion from cloud technology in the second quarter, while Microsoft earned $ 5.9 billion from cloud service Azure. For Microsoft, the international market is much more important. While the company generated 71 percent of its revenue from its customers in the US in fiscal 2002, this rate fell to 51 percent in the fiscal year 2020 ending in June.
