Pfizer Plans to Double Vaccine Production
Pfizer wants to double the amount of coronavirus vaccine it produces for the USA.
Pfizer plans to double vaccine production. Speaking on Friday,
Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla stated that the company will increase its production capacity and agree with new suppliers to produce more of the coronavirus vaccine developed by BioNTech, which they also distribute.
Bourla at the company's Michigan facility, along with US President Joe Biden, stated that they plan to recruit more staff at the Kalamazoo facility to produce more of the compound known as lipid, which allows the company to transfer new doses and genes to the body.
The company pointed out that the lipid production capacity at its Groton and Connecticut plants will be expanded, while additional capacity will be created for the final filling process at the McPherson and Kansas facilities.
Bourla also stated the following regarding the coronavirus vaccine produced weekly for the USA;
“We plan to double the amount of vaccine dose produced for the USA weekly. Currently, this figure is an average of 5 million doses per week."
