President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the Mevlid-i Nebi Week Opening Program. Speaking here, Erdogan called on citizens not to buy French goods. Erdogan said, "Do not buy French goods."
Speaking at the Opening Program of the Mevlid-i Nebi Week at Beştepe Millet Congress and Culture Center, Erdoğan said: "The Islamic world is experiencing painful days, full of difficulties. In Islamic towns, the cries of mothers are reflected in the images of the mosques turned into wreck with with bombs. Libya's rich underground resources were plundered by putschists and Western imperialist powers. We see that hostility towards Islam and Muslims spread like a plague. I'm calling out to my nation. Do not buy French brands.”
Oyak Cement and Alcatel Shares Decreased Following the Statements

President Erdogan's call to boycott French goods, there were active moments in
Borsa Istanbul. The decline in Oyak Çimento stocks reached 5.7 percent.
The daily loss of Alcatel Lucent Teletaş shares were 8.7 percent.
After Erdogan's Previous Statements, France Called Its Ambassador
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made statements about French President Emmanuel Macron in his statement at the end of last week: "This is a case. He really needs to be controlled".
Upon President Erdoğan's words about the French leader Macron, stated that these statements were "unacceptable" and called the Ankara Ambassador to Paris for consultations.
