President Erdogan: We Have to Lower Interest Rates

President Erdogan said, "I met with my Central Bank president today. We have to lower the interest rates, we have to reduce the interest burden."

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was a guest on a broadcast on TRT, commented on the agenda. Erdogan stated on the broadcast that he had a meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank and that it was imperative to lower the interest burden. In his speech on interest rates, President Erdogan said, “We have to reduce the interest rates once, so we will find these places in July-August so that the interest starts to decrease. Because if we remove the burden of interest from investments and costs, we will enter a period of relaxation there, as it is interest that triggers cost inflation.” Immediately after President Erdogan's statement, the USD/TL exchange rate started to rise and recorded an all-time high. President Erdogan's remarks on the 128 billion dollar debate drew attention. Erdogan said: “They ask, "Where is $ 128 billion? Has anyone asked about the disasters we went through during this process, where did you make these expenditures? Do not forget that the superstructure of a country without an infrastructure is always a threat. That's why we will continue to give importance to infrastructure."
