Protective drapes sharply increased the sales of the fashion company van Laack
The jump into the production of protective drapes and other products to protect against the new coronavirus significantly boosted the sales of the German fashion company van Laack during the pandemic. The company now expects that thanks to drapes and other products from this area, it will have roughly twice as much sales in the current financial year as in the previous year.
"We expect sales of more than 100 million garments and about 12 million tires to double our sales in the current fiscal year," fashion company chief Christian von Daniels said in an interview with the German daily Rheinische Post, published by DPA.
The veils were underestimated
Van Laack currently produces about 15 million textile drapes a month, which it sells from
Greece to Portugal.
According to Daniels, several competitors in the fashion industry did not take advantage of the opportunity offered by the introduction of the obligation to have their mouths and noses covered.
"In the first half of 2020 alone, the Germans spent about 53 euros on a drape per capita, while on shirts it was on average only 26.50 euros for the whole of 2019. Given that, I can say that the drapes were extremely underestimated as a product in this business. , "he added.
In addition, the presentation "in the drape business" has increased the demand for other products of the fashion company.
"The
van Laack brand is currently experiencing unprecedented interest," Daniels said, noting in online stores. In October alone, sales from online stores increased by 80 percent compared to the same period last year.
