Automobile prices increased by 4-10% as a result of the decision to raise production, which was influenced by the exchange rate increase last month. It was stated that there are no models left in the lowest slice of the SCT bases, which were renewed in January.
In the automotive sector researches, an increase in rates ranging from 4% to 10% was recorded for new cars. While the new prices of some of the leading automotive companies of the sector were announced last week, some brands increased their prices on May 31-June 1.
In the statements made by the Presidency in the past months, the SCT tariff applied for passenger cars whose engine cylinder volume does not exceed 1600 cc was re-formed by opening new base groups and determining new rates. In this way, the tax base threshold taken as the basis for the 45% SCT rate was increased from 92 thousand liras to 120 thousand liras, while two more
tax base groups were opened between the 50 percent and 80 percent SCT rate.
Those whose tax base exceeded 150 thousand liras and did not exceed 175 thousand liras were taxed at the rate of 60 percent instead of 80 percent, and those whose tax base exceeded 175 thousand liras and did not exceed 200 thousand liras were taxed at 70 percent instead of 80 percent. The tax base threshold, which is used as a basis for the 80 percent SCT rate in automobiles, was moved from 150 thousand liras to 200 thousand liras.
In addition, for hybrid motor vehicles not exceeding 1800 cc, the SCT baseline, which was taken as the basis for the 45 percent SCT rate, was increased from 114 thousand liras to 130 thousand liras, and the baseline for the 50 SCT rate was increased from 170 thousand liras to 210 thousand liras.
