Recep Tayyip Erdoğan: "Meal Card Obligation is Being Abolished”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements noting that the meal card obligation will be abolished. Erdoğan noted that cash meal costs will be included in the scope of tax exemption.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan evaluated the agenda at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce 140th Anniversary Special Awards program at the Haliç Congress Center. Erdoğan said,
"I am giving news from here now. I say, there are investors in front of me. I am calling out to you. I invite you to invest with low interest rates, especially public banks. Because what will the investments you will make with the loans you get at low interest rates do, they will provide employment, increase production, exports and turn the current account surplus in our favor."

"We are abolishing the obligation to use restaurants, diners and food cards for meal payments. The amount of meals paid in cash to employees will also fall within the scope of tax exemption."
Tax exemption for electricity and natural gas support
Erdoğan also announced that employers will be exempt from income tax and insurance premium deductions for 1,000 liras of electricity, natural gas and heating support for employees. He added that those who employ Turkish workers in construction, maintenance and repair works abroad will not pay income tax.
