Regulation For Fuel Prices In Turkey

There is a new regulation for fuel prices in Turkey. Fuel prices will be discounted.

With the decision taken by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), a single fuel price application was introduced for Turkey. According to the written statement made by EMRA, the institution will determine the highest price in fuel sales on a provincial basis. According to the new tariff, which is announced to come into effect as of tonight, there will be a discount of 0.17-0.20 TL in prices. According to the price decision, the highest price per liter of gasoline on the European Side of Istanbul will be 7.07 lira, while diesel will be 6.43 lira per liter. The price of gasoline per liter on the Anatolian side will be 7.08 lira, while diesel will be 6.44 lira per liter. Gasoline in Ankara will be the highest 7.13 lira per liter and 6.49 lira per liter of diesel. In Izmir, a liter of gasoline will be 7.16 lira, while diesel will be 6.52 lira per liter. EMRA Chairman Mustafa Yilmaz, who made a statement on the subject, said, "Our state has done its part with the mobile trench system, but unfortunately some companies have abused this practice to profit. As a result of our investigations, we made the right decision for our consumers and our sector."   How Are Fuel Prices Calculated? Fuel prices are calculated by the refineries via inclusion of processed products in Mediterranean which includes Turkey and changes in the US dollar rate. As a result of this calculation, the prices applied by distribution companies may vary slightly according to companies and cities due to their competition and freedom. With the Esel Mobil system applied in fuel prices, the increases in domestic pump prices as a result of the increase in oil prices, exchange rate and international product prices are tried to be balanced without being reflected as a raise to the consumer with the SCT adjustment.
