Retail Sales in the EU Increased in August
Retail sales in the EU increased in August. Retail sales in the European Union increased by 3.8 percent compared to the previous month in August, when the measures implemented to combat the coronavirus epidemic continued to relax.

Eurozone.
According to the published data, retail sales in the Euro Zone, which has 19 members, increased by 4.4 percent in August compared to July and 3.7 percent compared to the same period of 2019.
In the European Union, retail sales increased by 3.8 percent in August compared to July and 3.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
Among EU countries, the highest jump in retail sales in August compared to the previous month of July was recorded in Belgium with 9.6 percent, France with 6.2 percent and Germany with 3.1 percent. The largest decline was in Romania and Slovenia, with 1.6 percent.
