Russian Giant Gazprom's European Shipments Continue to Decline

Gazprom, Russia's largest company and the world's largest natural gas producer, noted that the natural gas shipments it provides to Europe via the North Stream pipeline will decrease by another 33 percent due to technical problems.

Gazprom, Russia's natural gas giant, stated that some technical equipment sent to the German Siemens company for maintenance has not yet returned, and shared the note that "gas supply to the North Stream pipeline can be provided up to 67 million cubic meters per day as of June 16." Gazprom, in a statement yesterday, stated that gas shipments via Nord Stream decreased from 167 million cubic meters to 100 million cubic meters. Nord Stream is known as one of the important lines carrying Russian gas to Europe, as well as the Yamal-Europe pipeline and the pipelines in Ukraine. In the previous statement made by the company, it was stated that shipments via Yamal-Europe were stopped, and shipments via Ukraine were reduced by about half. Gas futures rose 9 percent in Europe as Gazprom shut down another compressor.
