Sabiha Gökçen Became Europe's 5th Busiest Airport Sabiha Gökçen became Europe’s 5th busiest airport. It was reported that Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport was the 5th busiest airport in Europe with the total number of flights operated on October 20. According to the data shared by the European Air Navigation Safety Organization (Eurocontrol), a total of 429 flights took place at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport on October 20 at domestic and international flights. With these flights, Sabiha Gökçen Airport became the 5th busiest airport in Europe. In terms of domestic and international flights, Amsterdam - Schiphol Airport is the leader with 560 flights, Paris - Charles De Gaulle Airport second with 492 flights, London - Heathrow Airport third with 452 flights, and Germany - Frankfurt Airport fourth with 443 flights.
