Sales Of Older Homes In The US Market Strengthened By 9.4 Percent

The US National Real Estate Association (NAR) reported that sales of older homes in the US market strengthened by 9.4 percent in September. This means that high activity in the residential real estate market continues despite the coronavirus pandemic.  Sales of older homes in the country increased last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 6.54 million housing units. This was the highest level since February 2006, when the previous bubble in the real estate market culminated.
According to the NAR, the median selling price of a house in the USA increased by 15 percent year-on-year to $ 311,800. The main reason for the increase is the insufficient supply of older houses for sale. September is usually the month during which home purchases in the United States slow down. However, as a result of the pandemic, the sale of homes, which takes place in the spring, was delayed by several months.
