The sales of vehicles produced by the US electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla in its Chinese factory increased in May. According to the data of the China Automotive Association, Tesla's electric vehicle sales and exports in China in May increased by 29 percent compared to the previous month and reached 33 thousand 463. Sales, which were 25 thousand 845 in April as a result of the cessation of production, reached 33 thousand 463 in May. 11 thousand 527 vehicles produced in China in May were exported to Europe. Sales in the Chinese market alone also increased by 88 percent compared to April. Automotive Association Director Cui Dongshu said that they expect a further increase in Tesla sales in June. Tesla's sales in China account for almost a third of its total sales.

Some officials working in Chinese government offices had been warned not to park Tesla vehicles inside government campuses. According to Reuters, such a warning was needed due to safety concerns about the cameras in Tesla cars. Tesla's Beijing unit, in its statement on allegations of espionage in April, reported that cameras were not activated in cars manufactured outside of North America.
