Sanofi Will Produce Moderna's Coronavirus Vaccine
Sanofi will produce Moderna's coronavirus vaccine. Sanofi announced that it will produce 200 million doses of vaccine, helping the company's filling and packaging process.
French drug and vaccine manufacturer
Sanofi announced on Monday that it will carry out filling and packaging work for the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine developed by Moderna. The company announced that it will begin production of 200 million doses of vaccine at its facility in the US state of New Jersey from September.
Sanofi Chief Executive Officer Paul Hudson said, "We are mobilizing on multiple fronts and we have shown solidarity across the industry."
This Was Sanofi's Third Deal
Sanofi had previously agreed with Pfizer/BioNTech and Johnson&Johnson companies for filling the prepared vaccine solution into vials (glass bottles with powder or liquid active ingredients).
The company, which previously announced that the
vaccine developed together by Pfizer-BioNTech companies will help the production of 125 million doses of vaccine, has also approved a similar agreement with Johnson&Johnson to help the production of 12 million doses of vaccine.
It is known that the French pharmaceutical company has two different coronavirus vaccines, which are undergoing clinical tests. It is estimated that Sanofi's coronavirus vaccine, which has the same technology as flu vaccines and continues to work, will be available this autumn after months of delay.
It was stated that the mRNA vaccine developed by the company could also be used early next year.
