Selection Committee in the USA Meets to Approve New President
In the USA, the Selection Committee meets to approve the new president. The board is meeting to officially confirm that
Joe Biden as the winner of the election held on 3 November.
The "Selection Committee", which convenes once after the presidential elections to elect the president and vice president in the USA, will announce the official results on Monday.
With Biden reaching a majority of 270 votes in the Selection Committee, his presidency will be officially approved. With this constitutionally mandated procedure, the chaotic election season will end.
Immediately after the Selection Committee, the US Congress will count all the votes of the members of the Selection Committee and announce the winner on January 6.
Speaking to reporters last week, Senator John Thune from South Dakota noted that the election would end with the Electoral Board voting.
The current
President Donald Trump argued that the transactions were "fraudulent" and sued for the denial of the results. However, more than 50 lawsuits Trump filed in state were rejected by the federal courts.
