Short-term work benefits and 3.2% of citizens who have been granted free leave now pay cash. To benefit from the short-term work allowance, a premium of at least 450 days had to be paid and the premium had to be paid non-stop for the past 60 days.
Minister Selçuk made a statement
According to the Minister for Family Work and Social Services,
Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, 300,000 companies applied for short-time work for 3.2 million workers. As is well known, the employer's declaration would be taken into account in order to receive this allowance. The
Short Work Allowance is paid out from the eighth day of production. In other words, the allowance for days that were not worked in May will be paid from June 5.
When are cash payments made?
Aside from the short-time work allowance, those who were granted free leave at work would receive cash support from March 15, 2020. Those who cannot receive unemployment benefit can also benefit from the cash benefit, which is set at 39.24 lira daily and 1.177 lira per month. Cash payments will be made on Friday, May 8, 2020. The cash support payment will be issued for the next 3 months since the law came into effect. Payments made after April 17 will be paid into accounts for periods of unemployment, unemployment or unpaid leave until July 17. Those who have spent the entire April on unemployed or unpaid leave will receive a 14 day payment and a deposit of 545 TL.
