Short Time Work Allowance Has Been Extended For 3 Months

Short time work allowance has been extended for 3 months. The long-standing calls of the sector representatives have been answered.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "We have decided to continue the short-time work allowance, which is valid for all sectors, covering April, May and June." President Erdogan hosted representatives of the tourism sector at the Presidential Complex on the occasion of the Tourism Week. Stating that they take into account the problems and expectations of the tourism sector, Erdogan said, "During our meeting, in line with the demands of our sector representatives, we decided to continue with the short-time working allowance, which is valid for all sectors, covering April, May and June. We decided that it would be beneficial to continue until the end."

Union Representatives Published a Statement of Appreciation

The Turkish Confederation of Trade Unions (TÜRK-İŞ), the Confederation of Trade Unions of Rights (HAK-İŞ), the Turkish Confederation of Employers' Unions (TİSK) and the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) made a statement regarding the extension of the short work allowance. In the joint statement, the following expressions were used: "We find the extension of the Short Work Allowance very valuable. The whole working life needed this support due to other difficulties experienced in the recent period, especially the continuation of the process of combating the epidemic. We would like to thank President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is with us on this issue.” The President of the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB), Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu also made a statement on his Twitter account. Hisarcıklıoğlu said, "We would like to thank our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who decided to continue the short-time work allowance application for all sectors, covering April, May and June, in line our demands."
