Short work allowance decision was published in the Official Gazette. The decision extending the
allowance applied to citizens who lost their jobs and income within the scope of combating the coronavirus epidemic for 3 months was published in the Official Gazette.
For workplaces applying for short work due to the coronavirus epidemic, the short work allowance period has been extended until June 30, 2021. The decision signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which extended the short-time work allowance application for 3 months and entered into force as of April 1.
According to the decision signed by
President Erdogan, within the framework of the principles set out in Article 23 of the Unemployment Insurance Law, within the scope of periodic situations arising from external effects due to coronavirus, short work is required for businesses that apply for short work until January 31, 2021 (including this date). The duration of the allowance has been extended until 30 June 2021 within the framework of the principles set out in the Presidential Decree No. 2706, dated 29 June 2020, without the extension period within the scope of the additional article 2 of the Law, starting after the extended period with the President's Decree No. 3556, dated February 18, 2021.
The decision will take effect as of April 1.
