Škoda Auto will significantly reduce production

The production crisis at Škoda Auto is collecting a personnel tax. From October 18 until the end of the year, the carmaker will significantly reduce or completely stop production in all three Czech plants. According to current union information, this will cause a large relocation of employees in the company. For many of them, society would not be of use otherwise. Therefore, in November, it will start moving people to other positions to a greater extent. Employees fear layoffs. The e15.cz server informed about it. "In motoring jargon, it is called something like this:" We will not give a reverse, but we will shift to a lower speed, which is, however, full of strength, "the unions write in the company weekly Škodovácký odborář. This week, the plants in Mladá Boleslav and Kvasiny did not produce cars on Mondays and Tuesdays. Next week, according to trade unions, the carmaker's Czech plants will not be produced for almost a whole week, with a few exceptions. The company wants to use the suspended production in the plants for company inventory and, in addition, for the completion of tens of thousands of cars in progress, which currently stand in parking lots. Restrictions on production until the end of the year are feared by employees who are afraid that the company will not have a job for them. Škoda employs more than 35,000 people in the Czech Republic and the average gross salary in the company exceeds CZK 50,000 (EUR 1968) per month. According to unions, major personnel changes are being prepared in the carmaker from November 1. According to the trade union leader Jaroslav Povšík, the so-called reduced standard of service will be prepared from November. The company wants to make the most of the natural turnover of regular and agency employees. For example, employees for whom the carmaker does not have a job in their original position will be transferred to the vacancies. Employees who will not be used in the car company will be included in the so-called overhang centers, which will figure out what kind of work to assign them. In addition, the company will limit overtime. However, the problems of Škoda Auto also affect many supplier companies. The company Kasko from Slavkov, which produces plastic parts mainly for the automotive industry, had to stop production for two weeks and leave some employees at home for 60% of their wages. Škoda itself leaves some employees at home and pays them 80% of their salary.
