Social media giants were fined 30 million lira each. Second sanctions were imposed on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram.

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram who did not fulfill Turkey’s requirement to have an official representative within the given time. This penalty was 30 million lira for each platform.
According to
Bloomberg's report, a senior government official informed that the platforms in question were fined 30 million lira each.
Until this time, only Russia's social media platform VKontakte (VK) has notified the agency. Companies started to be notified for new penalties.
Last month, fines of 10 million lira were imposed on the companies for failing to notify them within the deadline. If they continue to inform the representatives of the companies, the taxpayers of this company in the coming months, will be prohibited from advertising in Turkey.
The Information Technologies and Communication Authority will be able to apply to the magistrate's office to reduce the internet traffic bandwidth of the social network provider by 50 percent on companies that do not fulfill the necessary obligations within 3 months. This penalty can increase up to 90 percent.
If the companies make a representative notification and pay the penalty within 1 month following the day the penalty is given, the penalties will be reduced by 1 in 4.
