Statement from Podolyak on the Negotiations
Mikhail Podolyak, Advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine, made a statement that the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine have been suspended.
Statement from Podolyak on the Negotiations. While the war, which started with Russia's attack on Ukrainian territory on February 24, continued despite the time and all contacts between the two countries, a remarkable statement regarding the negotiations came from Ukraine.
Mikhail Podolyak, Advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine, stated that the situation in Ukraine has changed a lot since the start of the war, and claimed that Russia did not take these changes into account.
Stating that the negotiations were suspended due to Russia's attitude, Podolyak said in his statement:
"The negotiation process depends on how the events are going in Ukraine. The process was suspended because there was no significant change or progress after the Istanbul Declaration. Russia still maintains its stereotypical thinking. Russia, even at the 82nd day of the war, didn't realize that the situation in Ukraine wasn’t the same as their thoughts, since start of the war. But I stress this: any war will still end at the negotiating table."
