Stock market closed the day with a decrease on January 5. In
Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index lost 0.39 percent and finished the day with 1.489.56 points.
At the end of the day, in the BIST 100 index, which decreased by 5.87 points compared to the previous closing, the total transaction volume was recorded as 42.4 billion liras.
At the closing, the banking index lost 1.30 percent, while the holding index fell 0.29 percent. Among the industry indices, construction was the most profitable with 3.67 percent, while sports were the most declining with 2.51 percent.
The BIST 100 index, which hit a record level with 1.506.89 points during the day, started to decline and found a balance below 1.490,00 points.
Analysts reminded that the focus of the agenda is the second round of Senate elections to be held in the state of Georgia, USA, and said that new measures due to new types of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases, especially in the UK, have reduced the global risk appetite.
Indicating that the domestic data agenda is stable tomorrow, analysts noted that the intense data agenda will be followed abroad, especially the ADP employment report and factory orders in the USA, the US Federal Reserve (Fed) meeting, the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) to be announced worldwide.
In technical terms, analysts stated that 1.500 and 1.520 levels could be followed as resistance and 1.470 and 1.450 levels could be followed as support in the
BIST 100 index.
