In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index lost 2.57 percent in value and ended the day with 1,259.72 points. At the end of the day, the BIST 100 index decreased by 33.27 points compared to the previous closing, and the total transaction volume was recorded as 27.5 billion liras. At the closing, the banking index lost 5.31 percent, while the holding index lost 3.56 percent. Among the sector indices, trade was the highest earning with 1.10 percent, while tourism was the most declining with 5.71 percent. Despite the positive news about the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine, it was reported that the expectation that the measures could be tightened due to the increase in the number of cases triggered profit sales in Borsa Istanbul, which gained more than 8 percent last week. The analysts stated that the US and European stock markets also followed a sales course with the decrease in the global risk appetite and reminded that the inflation in the UK and the Eurozone and the housing starts data in the USA will be monitored tomorrow. In technical terms, analysts stated that the support of 1.225 and 1.190 levels in the BIST 100 index is at a resistance position of 1.300 points.
