Stock market ends the day with a record. The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul increased by 0.53 percent and recorded an all-time high with 1.565.01 points. The index also reached its highest level with 1.578.30 points. At the end of the day, the BIST 100 index increased by 8.24 points compared to the previous closing, and the total transaction volume was recorded as 34.3 billion liras. At the closing, the banking index gained 0.33 percent, while the holding index gained 1.40 percent. While informatics earned the most with 2.21 percent among the sector indices, sports were the most declining with 3.73 percent. Analysts said that despite the increase in the number of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases along with loss of life, the appetite for risk in global markets increased partially before the presentation to be made by Janet Yellen, who is expected to become the Treasury Minister in the USA. Reminding that the financial results of the companies in the US for the fourth quarter were announced, analysts stated that the realizations in the balance sheets are likely to have an impact on the direction of the markets. It was stated that the inauguration of Joe Biden, who was elected to the US Presidency, will be held tomorrow, and that the data agenda was stagnant in the country, inflation in the Eurozone and the speech of the Bank of England (BoE) President Andew Bailey will be monitored abroad. On the technical side, analysts stated that the 1.590 level is in the resistance position and the 1.500 level is in the support position for the BIST 100 index.
