Stock market started the day at a record level.
BIST 100 index gained 0.82 percent in
Borsa Istanbul and started the day with 1.569.56 points.
At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which increased by 12.79 points and 0.82 percent compared to its previous closing, broke the all-time record with 1.569.56 points.
While the banking index gained 0.93 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.70 percent. While all sector indices profited their investors at the opening, tourism was the most profitable with 1.71 percent.
BIST 100 index, which moved with buyers on Monday, gained 2.12 percent compared to its previous closing and closed the day with 1.556.77 points.
Analysts stated that despite the increase in new types of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases all over the world along with loss of life, Janet Yellen, who is expected to be the Treasury Minister in the USA, stated that the risk appetite in global markets increased before the presentation.
In addition, it was reminded that the financial results of the companies in the US for the fourth quarter were announced and it was reported that the realizations in the balance sheets could play a role in determining the direction of the markets.
Indicating that the domestic housing price index data will be followed today, analysts said that the Consumer Price Index and ZEW indices in Germany and the balance of payments data in the Eurozone. In technical terms, it was stated that the 1.570 and 1.590 levels were in the resistance position and 1.500 level is in the support position for the BIST 100 index.
