Stock market started the day with a decrease on October 30. BIST 100 index in
Borsa Istanbul decreased 1.36 percent and started the day with 1.111.70 points.
BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul fell to 1,111.70 points with a loss of 15.29 points and 1.36 percent after the 1.5-day Republic Day holiday.
While the banking index depreciated by 1.12 percent at the opening, the holding index lost 1.90 percent. Among the industry indices, forest, paper and printing were the most profitable with 1.19 percent, while electricity was the most declining with 2.78 percent.
The BIST 100 index, which lost 2.22 percent in transactions made until noon on Wednesday, closed the day with 1.126.99 points.
The rapidly increasing number of new coronavirus (Covid-19) cases worldwide and the start of quarantine practices in Europe had a negative impact on the stock markets.
Indicating that the foreign trade balance in the country will be monitored today, analysts stated that the intensive data agenda, especially personal spending in the USA and growth in the Eurozone, will be monitored abroad.
Technically speaking, analysts point out that 1.110 in the
BIST 100 index is a critical support for the medium-term outlook; stated that it should be followed whether the level of 1.140 can be exceeded in possible recovery.
