Stock market started the day with an increase on January 14. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul increased by 0.50 percent and opened the day with 1.567.11 points. At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which increased by 7.83 points and 0.50 percent compared to its previous closing, reached 1.567.11 points. At the opening, the banking index and holding index gained 0.38 percent. At the beginning of the day, all industry indices gained value, while transportation was the most profitable for investors with 2.77 percent. BIST 100 index, which moved with buyers on Wednesday, closed the day at 1,559.28 points, gaining 0.63 percent compared to the previous close. While the index broke the closing record with this level, it carried the highest reached level to 1.567.88 points. Analysts stated that the concerns that the measures could be tightened due to the increase in the number of cases and deaths in the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic worldwide, put pressure on the markets, but the expectations for the stimulus package to be announced today and vaccination efforts in the USA increased the risk appetite. Analysts stated that domestic housing sales and weekly money and bank statistics will be monitored today, while weekly unemployment applications in the USA and the speech of US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will be closely monitored abroad. In technical terms, analysts stated that 1.580 points are in resistance position and 1.500 points are in support position for the BIST 100 index.
