While the banking index gained 0.63 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.26 percent. Among the industry indices, forest, paper and printing became the most profitable with 0.90 percent, while securities investment trusts fell the most with 1.15 percent.
The emphasis President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made while speaking at the AK Party group meeting yesterday energized the markets. After Erdogan emphasized "the new era in the economy", exchange rates and gold prices suddenly declined. In parallel with this, Borsa İstanbul recorded an all-time high with 1,284.62 points. The index, which gained 2.91 percent at the closing, achieved the best closing in its history with 1.279.22 points.
Stating that the demand for Turkish lira assets increased after President Erdogan's statements, analysts stated that the premiums of nearly 9 percent in bank shares, which have been traded at Borsa Istanbul with very high discounts for a long time, have the highest weight in the rise of the BIST 100 index.
Today, analysts remind that the data agenda seems stable in the country, while abroad, in addition to the speeches of US Federal Reserve Governor Jerome Powell, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde and Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey, inflation in the USA, growth in the UK and the Eurozone. They stated that intense data agenda, especially industrial production, will be monitored.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the BIST 100 index is at the level of resistance of 1.300 and the level of support of 1.220.
