Stock market started the new week with a decline on December 7. BIST 100 index in
Borsa Istanbul decreased 0.10 percent and opened the week with 1,329.58 points.
At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index lost 1.30 points and 0.10 percent compared to its previous closing and dropped to 1.329.58 points.
While the banking index depreciated by 0.94 percent at the opening, the holding index lost its value by 0.07 percent. Chemicals, petroleum and plastics were the most profitable among the industry indices with 1.17 percent, while banking was the most declining.
BIST 100 index, which remained flat on the last trading day of the past week, gained 0.16 percent on a weekly basis. The index closed the week with an all-time high of 1,330.87 points.
In addition to new developments in the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine, economic recovery steps, especially in the USA and Europe, and intense data agenda, it was informed that the US-China tension is at the center of the agenda.
Growth in the Euro Zone tomorrow, inflation in China on Wednesday, inflation in the US on Thursday, and domestic current account balance data on Friday will be monitored, analysts reminded that the European Central Bank's interest rate decision on Thursday will also be followed.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the levels of 1.340 and 1.360 are in the resistance position and 1.290 points are in the support position in the
BIST 100 index.
