Stock market started the week with an increase on December 28. BIST 100 index in
Borsa Istanbul increased by 0.67 percent and started its first working day with 1,435.51 points.
At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 9.48 points and 0.67 percent compared to its previous closing, reached 1.435.51 points.
While the banking index gained 0.69 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.34 percent. Among the sector indices, forest, paper and printing were the most profitable with 3.77 percent, while the only decline was on sports with 0.11 percent.
Having spent the past week full of records, the BIST 100 index closed the day with an increase of 0.03 points on the last trading day, with 1,426.03 points recording the highest closing of all time on a daily and weekly basis.
The analysts stated that the economic confidence index and the summary of the Monetary Policy Committee meeting on Thursday and foreign trade statistics will be monitored in Turkey this week, and that the data agenda abroad is stable. On the other hand, it was reported that the New Year holiday will begin in Europe on Thursday and all markets will be closed on Friday.
The signing of the stimulus package in the USA and the agreement between the EU and the UK will determine post-Brexit trade relations which reduced the intensity of the agenda.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the levels of 1.440 and 1.455 for the
BIST 100 index are in the resistance position and 1.390 points are in the support position.
