Stock market starts the week with a decline on December 21. In
Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index decreased by 1.03 percent and opened the day from 1,393.79 points.
At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index lost 14.53 points and 1.03 percent compared to the previous closing and fell to 1.393.79 points.
While the banking index depreciated by 1.25 percent at the opening, the holding index fell by 1.18 percent. Among the sector indices, trade was the most profitable with 0.66 percent, while transportation was the most declining with 5.30 percent.
BIST 100 index, which diverged positively from the world stock markets on Friday, gained 0.64 percent and made its all-time closing with 1,408.32 points. On a weekly basis, the BIST 100 index gained 2.74 percent value, carrying its upward trend to the 7th week, bringing its highest level record to 1,410.32 points.
Analysts stated that the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic and the mutation news at the beginning of the new week negatively affected the markets, especially the transportation stocks, and the news on the subject will determine the direction of the markets.
Analysts statig that this week, Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting which will be held on Thursday will be the focus on the agenda , said that tomorrow the growth data to be released in the US will be monitored.
On the technical side, analysts stated that the
BIST 100 index is at a resistance position of 1,440 points and a support level of 1,320.
